Nestled on a narrow cobblestone street in old Puerto Vallarta, just up the hill from the famous Malecon (boardwalk), Casa Alexandra awaits individuals, couples, and groups seeking an atypical vacation/retreat experience. Constructed in the mid-1970s by master sculptor Manuel Palos, and named for his daughter Alexandra, Casa Alexandra was designed with the unique needs of creative people in mind.

Casa Alexandra offers an elegant, tranquil, inspirational setting where artists, writers, musicians, etc., can work on creative projects while enjoying a semi-communal, yet spa-like experience. The eight private guest rooms feature their own baths, some with Talavera tile accents. Rooms on the first floor look out onto a moss-covered courtyard, while second-level rooms feature balconies and sweeping views of the bay. A communal kitchen stocked with cookware and dishes allows guests to prepare and serve their own meals. The living room features an art library, sofas, and a color TV and DVD player for casual nights indoors.

Studded with original sculptures by Manuel Palos and others, Casa Alexandra features an open-air floor plan around the central three-story courtyard/green space. Red-tiled floors and a large living room and dining room make the casa an airy, inviting setting for dinner parties and gallery exhibitions.

The crown jewel of the three-level hacienda is a rooftop terrace with a pool, bar, barbecue grill, and entertainment area furnished with tropical plants and traditional leather equipable furniture. With breathtaking, point-to-point views of Banderas Bay and colorful downtown Puerto Vallarta, the terrace is an ideal spot to soak up the sun and ocean breezes or get down to the business of art be it painting, sculpting, writing, or a spiritual retreat.

With an adjoining 3,000 sq. ft. sculpting studio, spacious common areas, and great natural light, Casa Alexandra is a place where creative people in many disciplines can work, mingle, share ideas, or just relax and contemplate the amazing sunsets and ever-shifting shades of blue on Banderas Bay.
